Client Name: Pneumask NY

Project Description

Position: UX Designer, Branding Designer, UI/Web Designer
Website Url: www.pneumaskny.com

During March of 2020, when the Coronavirus pandemic began, an existing client of mine wanted to start building masks for the community. He was building specific masks called PPE respirator/face shields for healthcare professionals. He wanted to be able to sell the mask through the website. He inquired with my company about a new website and brand for this company, and he needed it escalated to be completed in a week.

The client had the content written that he wanted on his new website. He only had a few paragraphs. On day one, my team and I came up with the website plan and suggested we find some imagery and produce a one page website.

Branding & UX Design

After doing some research, I found mask and health websites to be very busy, and typically the colors were blue and white. We knew that this website would not have alot of content or pages, so the design we came up with was simple. We decided to go with a light blue as the main accent and break the content into sections alternating images and content. We suggested he add a testimonial and news section so that he could share the latest updates and gain trust with users. On day two, we built the logo and style guide and sent them over to the client for branding approval.

UI Design

We worked on the website on days three-five. The client wanted to be able to easily edit the website and he preferred to use WordPress. We chose to use Divi, this saved us a lot of time building the layout and it gives the client something very easy to use. Divi also allowed us to easily blur out the testimonials area until the client received testimonials. For the store, it was going to be simple with just one product. We used the WooCommerce plugin, set up the shop settings and added ‘order’ and ‘cart’ menu items.

The Result

On day six, we presented the website to the client. He had one request to change an image. We completed that change. On day seven, we launched the website and completed post launch tasks such as Google Analytics, Search Console and My Business Accounts. We also submitted his website to the search engines. The client was able to start pitching his masks to large companies right away. He has since sold hundreds of masks from the website.
